Black Panther Party commemorates 43 years with weekend of events It’s been 43 years since the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense was formed in Oakland. But the party has not been forgotten thanks to the BPP Commemoration Committee and the annual events it hosts throughout the Bay Area.
