GRIP Harmony Walk raises funds to fight hunger, homelessness in West County The Greater Richmond Interfaith Group’s Harmony Walk added a new twist to its annual fundraising event when it moved the walk’s starting and end-points to Richmond’s newly renovated Civic Center Plaza.
The 23rd annual fundraising event, designed to help those suffering from hunger and homelessness in West Contra Costa County, had about 250 volunteers walking a 3.3-mile route through the streets of Richmond on Saturday. Participants came from throughout West County and included many of the religious congregations that GRIP connects with. They braved Saturday’s blustery early-morning weather to raise the money that helps others. |
