Negative surprises

By Kriss Brooks

Successful people don’t have fewer disappointments than others. In fact, they probably have more. What’s different is that successful people don’t let those disappointments stop them.

Successful people don’t have any fewer interruptions or potential distractions. They just don’t allow those interruptions and distractions to push them off track.

If a disappointment comes along, be disappointed. And then, move on. When an interruption pops up, deal with it and move on. If you try to shove the disappointment or interruption out of the way without resolving it, it will continue to steer you off your course to success.

Think about it. Negative surprises are a part of life. You can’t control that. However, it is up to you to either turn them into continuing excuses for why you’re not making progress or deal with each one and turn them into stepping stones to success.

Remember: “A smooth ocean never makes a great sailor.”
