Leaders address global warming at
‘Greening Richmond’ event

From the Globe Environment Desk

http://www.greenchamberofcommerce.netCity leaders and community organizers recently met at DeJean Middle School for an event entitled “Greening Richmond” to share information about the effects of global warming and offer resources on how to address the issue.
Speakers at the event included Sierra Magazine columnist Bob Schildgen, Mayor Gayle McLaughlin, Councilman Tom Butt, Assemblywoman Loni Hancock and community organizer Whitney Dotson.
Participants visited tables and booths staffed by representatives from local businesses who offered resources on energy-efficient lights and appliances, tankless water heaters, solar panels, biofuels, sustainable products, public transportation and more.
