On Friday, Aug. 11 Oakland’s
Director of Economic Development & Redevelopment
Director Dan Vanderpriem will meet with Black Wall
Street Merchants Association members to discuss the
economic future of the International Boulevard corridor.
The
breakfast will take place at Lil Boe Boe’s
Sports Cafe at 9101 International Blvd. The meeting
begins at 8 a.m. and will run until 11:30 a.m.
Many
topics will be discussed during this face-to-face
with the Community and Economic Development Agency
(CEDA), including building services, building/trade
permits, business assistance, code compliance, blight,
community development, economic development projects,
economic redevelopment, establishing new businesses,
historic preservation, inspection services, major
projects, permits, policies, plans and data, redevelopment
areas, rent adjustment, strategic planning, sustainable
development, target industries/areas, zoning applications
and zoning updates.
The discussion panel will also
include Stephanie Floyd-Johnson of CEDA commercial
revitalization, Aliza Gallo of CEDA business development
services, and Gregory Hunter, the CEDA redevelopment
area manager.
The free merchant breakfast is sponsored
by the Black Wall Street Merchants Association and
the Oakland Black Board of Trade and Commerce. One
person admitted per merchant business.
