A crowd of approximately 12,000
came out in support of The Raider Nation Celebration
Sunday at McAfee Coliseum in Oakland. It looked like
a regular Sunday afternoon as the players ran out
on the field during introduction and bringing the
fans to frenzy when newest Raider, receiver Randy
Moss was announced.
The players gave the fans a treat
playing a no-contact football game in their uniforms,
minus the pads.
The receivers even had some extra
fun of their own switching positions with the defense.
“This is a real good turnout,” said Run-Run
Jones, longtime assistant, and Waterman for the team,
“It’s really good to see the fans out
here like this.”
Nationally syndicated sports radio
talk show host J.T. the Brick served as MC of the
celebration that included interactive Kids Zones,
selected autograph and photo opportunities with the
Raiderettes and Raiders Legends.
A group of lucky children who wrote
Raider Nation essays watched the event from the field
and received autographs afterwards.
